Social Skills: This week we practiced our personal space.
Core: We have been working on adaptations and ecosystems. Thanksgiving Point also came to teach us how to be better scientists!
Elective: We got some time in the gym to have P.E.!!
Week of January 8-12:
Social Skills: This week we learned all about being a reporter and how to pull memories from our mind.
Core: We have been learning about different types of ecosystems and how everything depends on each other.
Elective: We learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and his importance.
Week of November 27-December 1:
Social Skills: We learned the difference between mean teasing and friendly teasing.
Core: We have been practicing our songs for the Winter Program.
Elective: We had the school-wide PJ and movie party!!
Week of November 13-17:
Social Skills: This week we talked all about how to work together in groups and how to compromise on difficult situations.
Social Studies: This week we talked all about Lewis and Clark and did some fun activities with them!
Elective: We worked on making a Thankful handprint tree!
Week of October 30-November 3:
Social Skills: This week we talked about being a detective in social situations and looking for social clues.
Social Studies: This week we started our History Unit. We have been talking about the Native Americans and will be learning about the early colonists.
Elective: We learned about Pointillism at the beginning of the year. This week we completed our pointillism pictures.
Week of October 2-6:
Social Skills: This week we talked about stress and predictable and unpredictable behavior.
Science: We finished up our unit on classification and we went on a little mini field trip to the front of the school to look at plants.
Elective: We had a fire drill and discussed ideas for our Halloween door decorating contest.
Week of September 25-29:
Science: We worked on classification of animals.
Social Skills: This week in social skills, we worked on two different kinds of social skills assessments.
Elective: This week we had PE with the rest of the third grade class where we participated in relay races.
Week of September 18-22:
Science: We started our first Science unit this week. We learned all about Aristotle and how he began classifying living things. We learned the difference between living and nonliving things. We also started to learn about different parts of plants.
Social Skills: This week we learned all about self-monitoring and how we feel in ourselves.
Elective: We learned about secondary colors while learning about a new type of art: Pointillism.
Week of September 11-15:
Social Skills: This week we talked about "Asking for Help" and how we can do it appropriately.
Social Studies: We finished up our unit on Communities and Geography.
Elective: We did a 9/11 memorial activity.
Week of August 28-September 1:
Social Skills: This week we learned all about the PRIDE rules and following direction
Social Studies: We started learning about communities and what makes up a community.
Elective: We have art this week. We will be creating our own zendoodles.
